Philosophy of our Team Program
Team competition is very important to us at Aerial Athletics. Although gymnastics is generally viewed as an individual sport, we try to encourage the importance of individual competition while working as a Team. We will emphasize the importance of team participation in our training, competition and special team events.


Our Gymnastics Team Highlights and Accomplishments
  • Recognized as a Junior Olympic National Team Training Center in 2002
  • Head Coach Heather Schnelzer was named Texas Coach of the Year and Region III Coach of the Year in 2006
  • Since 2001 tweleve team members have received full collegiate scholarships for gymnastics
  • Numerous State, Regional and National Championship Titles

2007

  • Gold and Bronze medals Chmeilewski Cup International acro Tournament, Swidnica, Poland
    State, regional
  • National Champions LV 8 women’s group State & Regional Champions
  • LV 8 women’s pair, National Silver medalists
  • Both pair and trio named to Junior Olympic National Team
  • Best Choreography Region 3

2008

  • 1st Place Women’s trio Level 9, 1st Place Mixed Pair Level 5 and 3rd Place Women’s Trio Level 7 at the 2008 Junior Olympic National Championships
  • Our Level 5 athletes earned the 3rd Place Team Award at Nationals
  • The Level 9 trio finished third in the World Team Trials, and the trio was named to the Junior Olympic National Team.
  • Aerial Athletics is one of only two gyms in Texas to have athletes selected for National Team.
  • Head Coach Jennifer Banowsky was named 2008 Region III Judges Coordinator and Region III Acro Coach of the year
  • Best choreography State Championships

2009

  • LV 6 women’s trio Best Choreography Region 3
  • LV 6 women’s trio State and Regional Champions, National Bronze Medalists
  • LV 8i women’s trio State Champions
  • LV 10 women’s trio Regional Champions
  • LV 10 women’s pair State, Regional, and National Champions
  • Freedom Cup  International Tournament: Jr Elite Women’s Pair Bronze Medal, Level  8 international women’s trio 5th place
  • National Courageous Spirit award – Allison Traina and Devin Jones (LV 10 women’s pair)
  • National Rookie Coach of the Year – Jennifer Banowsky

Spring Into Acro - March 27th

The Spring into Acro Invitational will be held at USA Aerial Athletics on March 27th. Warm ups are from 1 PM to 2 PM, followed by the opening ceremonies. If you are competing, the entry information is available using the link below. If you are a fan of acro, then by all means make a point to come watch this beautiful sport. You can get in for a song at a mere $4 for adults and children over 12. The little ones 4- 11 are only $2 and the toddlers are free.

AA at Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup

AA's own Level 10 gymnast Maliah Mathis will be competing in the inaugural Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup next weekend at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. The competition will be held the evening prior to the prestigious Tyson American Cup, using the event's podium, and will be televised. Way to go Maliah!!
